Week 22 “Change”

Life is the great adventure.   I choose my outcomes.                                     change-the-way-

What I think… is what I create.   My treasure comes from within.

How fun and exciting to think that the way I look at things makes all the difference.  I can be addicted to feelings that are negative and live in the powerlessness…or get quiet and stop dwelling on that which makes me stumble.  To recognize that where we stumble the most, is where we can discover our bliss.

I choose my outcomes.

I use the law of growth (“What ever I think about grows and whatever I forget about atrophies, without exception”) to my favor.  I have become addicted to improving!  Addicted to the joy of ridding the self destructive behavior from my life. Excitement takes over and the details sort themselves out.                                                                                                              I change.  things do not change we changeNo problem was ever solved by the thoughts that created it.  Hence, I must change the way I look at it! No longer am I selective to choose the comfortable…..nope I am all in! I am transformed using the law of substitution (“I can constantly replace a negative thought with a positive one”).

emerson worth waiting forAll things are possible and we create them in abundance by identifying what it is we want that is good and then being grateful for it.  Miracles are happening daily.  By reprogramming the habits in my life…I am the one!  I am not waiting for my circumstances to change or for someone to rescue me!  I change and I choose my outcomes! I can be what I will to be.  The power we can access to create good is within us.  We are never working alone because we have direct access to God!  So take inspired action!

For once in your life GO ALL IN!  DO IT NOW!

Become a self-directed thinker and celebrate what you find as you explore!  What do YOU want in your life?  Become your own hero!

The feelings….the fear….they are okay!  It just means the reluctant hero inside of you is changing!  Why do we want to stay loyal to our history?

Use the new key.

We are constantly changing.  The heart runs the brain, not the other way around.

Why is it we seek someone else’s approval for our life?  To thine own self be true…

It does not have to be a struggle….I can make it thrilling.  But knowledge does not apply itself.  And we don’t have control over what someone else thinks or believes.  People are perfect for where they have evolved to.  But others do not determine where we are unless we let them….by OUR choice!

Week 21 “What defines you?”

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”  ~Albert Einstein 

Either I define the moment or the moment defines me.  I start with my ability to control my thoughts.  Remembering that each of us is God’s greatest miracle.  Why would we limit ourselves?

Learning how to recognize and pay attention to “the comfort zone” has been critical for me.   For me this is the place that I can easily fall back into, the place of momentary least resistance.  That is when I must UN-brace myself so I move!  Expanding my comfort zone a little bit….which is better than doing nothing and staying stuck.  Like the millstones necessary to make the wheat into something useful, I want to EM-brace the stones of change in order to have the life I want.

Most people choose comfort. Even though the comfort is built on fear, guilt, unworthiness, hurt feelings and anger. Thus, we are left with the life we currently have.  Our comfort zone will control us until we control it!  Do I pursue what I want, or do I do what is comfortable?  We must accept responsibility.  We create our choices.  The world within is what determines the world without….not the other way around.   When we change the way we look at things the things we look at change.

Do I indulge my heart or cater to my fear? Approval is fear based.  A pseudo sense of control.  We can only stay stuck because we choose comfort.  Then we must take responsibility for the consequences…positive or negative…day to day…moment by moment.  Difficulties, in-harmonies, and obstacles, indicate that we are either refusing to give out what we no longer need, or refusing to accept what we require.  “What am I afraid of?”

We masquerade in our roles and forget who we are….the miracle we started out as.  “Who am I?”

Trusting myself, I will follow my bliss.  Do what I love and overcome obstacles along the way.  Because true happiness and success is a progressive realization of worthy ideals and goals.  The tools we need are within us.

Week 20 “A Life I Love”

Change is inevitable.

We create it.

Life is like a dance and if we change the steps we are taking, the dance changes.

So why not create a life we love? love in the sand

Fear.  Fear of the “unknown”.

Funny thing is, nothing is “known”.  We decide what we think and the choices we make.  No one has any power over our thoughts….just us.  What can be more scary than living a life of complacency?  Not having the fulfillment we were designed by our Creator to have.  A life filled with approval seeking from those that offer us no real love in return.

Yet we go on.

We settle.

Until one day we decide to love ourselves as the perfect creation we were intended to be.  Knowing that  “all things are possible to those who believe.”

A decision.

To live fully.

Week 19 “More or Less…”

What do you want MORE of in your life?

What do you want LESS of in your life?

These questions don’t seem complicated…yet when I ask people it is amazing how often I hear “I am not sure”, or “I really haven’t thought about it”. Less-is-More-21 So what are we doing everyday…how are we going through life…if we have no idea what we want?  How many people say they are comfortable?  Is comfortable really living life to the fullest?

Or just as sad we know what we want but we have no plan of action.  Just some kind of dream.  Which IS possible, but not probable if we don’t change anything.

We are the captain of our own ship. There are no victims.  The choice is ours.

We are responsible since we are at the helm.  You are not just a passenger, even if you claim to be.   Knowing the destination and having a map to get us there.  Without it, we probably will never leave the harbor.  If we do, the likelihood of crashing and sinking is better than getting to where we want to go.

Our compass is within us. compass and map We each need to know and find our true north.  To make a decision to pursue the path that brings us to our dreams….our MORE!

Week 18 “Provoking Imagination”

Is it real or is it imagined?  brain lit up Our feelings are left up to our imagination.  Nothing derives the feelings, we create them.  So where do these feelings come from?

THOUGHTS!  Thoughts create feelings….not the other way around!

Let’s say you are at a stop sign and it is your turn to go, but the driver in the car to your left cuts you off.   Hmmm….for some people that might really get them in a huff.  They might yell, curse, shake their head, point their finger, give a disgusted look and do whatever they can in a large fashion to show their sense of frustration.                                                        – But not you!  You realize that the other person must have had a true emergency and they really were not paying any attention because they were so overwrought with concern for where they had to go!  Or you think that the person just wanted to get a better look at you because you are beautiful AND they have always wanted a car just like yours….SO you just smile and wave and drive on.  RIGHT?

You decided how you felt about the situation!   Exactly!

Events happen.  We interpret the event and place meaning on  it.  Our mood is thus created!

In Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy Revised and Updated, David Burns teaches us that our thoughts create our feelings.  Burns explains the relationship between the world, your thoughts and your mood:

  1. World – a series of positive, neutral and negative events.
  2. Thoughts – you interpret the events with a series of thoughts that continually flow through your mind. This is called your “internal
  3. Mood – Your feelings are created by your thoughts and not
    the actual events. All experiences must be processed through your brain and
    given a conscious meaning before you experience any emotional response.

So we create the meaning.  (UGH!  wait YES!!!!)  I am totally responsible for how I feel!  YES!!!!            (Sign up for 7 Days To A New Life, FREE to your right!)

I am super excited about that!  No longer do I have to be fearful, angry, sad (anger turned inward), or feel any way other than how I choose to feel.  Does that mean I should never have those feelings of anger or sadness?  Of course not.  Yet, I do get to decide how long I feel that way and thus how long it will control my mood.  Giving myself permission the freedom to move forward and celebrate all the other miracles that are happening around me.

“Fear” can no more hold me captive because only I can create it and imagine it in my own mind.  Fear is not something tangible….only created.  Because I decide if that feeling even exists.  Faith or fear….I can only feel one or the other!  the brain illuminatedI choose faith. I choose to focus on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

And since what I focus on expands…I will find more of such things!
